The Joint Venture of TTI/YCN, LLC (MBTA "The Ride" service) is always seeking experienced and professional staff. All positions require a pre-employment drug test and CORI background check. We operate seven days a week, 365 days a year; so many positions require working on the weekends.

DRIVERS:
DRIVERS MUST BE 25 YEARS OLD
1. Individuals applying for a driving position must submit a copy of the Motor Vehicle Record obtained from the RMV within the past 30 days.
o Applicants for NRE (Non-Renewable) licenses will not be considered until full payment has been made and clearance documents submitted with this application.
2. Individuals applying for driving positions must submit a copy of their driver's license. In order to be considered, applicants must:
o Be currently licensed to drive in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
o Have held a Massachusetts driver's license continuously for the past three (3) years.
o Have held a US driver's license for the past five (5) years.
o Have no more than one (1) moving violation in the past four (4) years.
o Have zero (0) surchargeable accidents in the past four (4) years.
3. Must be available to work any shift and weekends. We are open 365 days a year
o Our first pick up is at 5:45 am and our last pick up is at 1:00 am.
o We have many shifts and you must be able to work the shift you are given.
4. The Joint Venture transports disabled individuals in wheelchair vans or sedans, providing door-to-door service for RIDE customers throughout Boston and the South Shore. Drivers will transport individuals in the following communities: Boston, Dedham, Canton, Norwood, Westwood, Walpole, Sharon, Medfield, Wellesley, Needham, Braintree, Quincy, Milton, Randolph, Hingham, Holbrook Weymouth, Cohasset and Hull
DISPATCHERS:
Dispatchers should always debrief the relief dispatcher and inform him or her of the day's events. Dispatchers must be polite and respectful to customers at all times. Never argue. Never try to explain why a vehicle is running late. Always apologize for the inconvenience and verify in ADEPT that the vehicle is en route. Communicate with the driver until the problem is resolved and, if possible, provide the customer with a reasonably accurate estimated time of the driver's arrival.
Dispatchers must be polite and helpful to drivers at all times. Yelling at or insulting a driver is unacceptable. Verbal communication with drivers should include "Please" and "Thank you" at all times.
Dispatchers must be conversant with the contents of the Joint Venture's Dispatcher Training Manual, as well as the RIDE Guide published by the MBTA to ensure that dispatchers provide appropriate and effective assistance.
Responsibilities Of Dispatch Include:
o Monitor the drivers to prevent late Pick Ups and Drop Offs.
o Assist Drivers Over the two-way radio or the driver's private line.
o Assist Drivers with No Shows.
o Assist Drivers with directions.
o Assist Drivers with trip information such as where their stop is.
o Assist Drivers with any vehicle problems or breakdowns.
o Assist Drivers with MDC issues/performing trips.
o Fill out Reports on late trips, no shows, accidents and incidents.
o Fill out Daily Time Sheets. Punch in and out for lunch.
o Fill out Booking Error Forms for corrections.
o Fill out Emergency Gas Card form.
o Fill out Equipment Failure Form for broken down vehicles.
o Fill out daily report to the Assistant Operations Manager (Dispatch Daily Log)
o Answer phone calls to assist clients.
Important Dispatch skills:
Must have strong computer skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment. Dispatch applicants must have good judgment and a thorough understanding of our service area.
$15.00 per hour
RESERVATIONIST:
Answer incoming telephone calls:
o Repeat all reservation details to customers as it has been received and entered into the computer, while the customer is on the phone.
o Identify and disperse telephone calls to the appropriate department.
o Take reservations from customers requesting transportation.
o Fax information to other vendors regarding transfers.
o Provide customers with their current debit account balance.
o Assist dispatch with the flow of calls which include providing customers with their pick up times and/or ETA's.
o Print out customers ride history's and mail it at customer request.
o Take complaints / compliments and distributes them to the appropriate supervisor.
o Answer customer questions and supplies them with helpful information.
o Reservationists are required to wear a headset at all times when on duty.
o Inform Customers that next day Pick-up times are not available until after Call Backs go out the night before.
o Knowledgeable in locating vehicles with AVL and providing Customers with vehicle ETA's.
Important Reservationist Skills:
Reservationists are expected to be polite and respectful to customers at all times. Never argue. Never try to explain why vehicles are running late. Always apologize for the inconvenience and make sure Dispatch is alerted to the problem. Communicate with dispatch until the problem is resolved and if possible call the customer back with expected accurate revised ETA.
AUTOMOTIVE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC:
Must have a minimum of three years mechanic's experience. Fleet maintenance experience helpful. Must provide own tools.
Compensation and Benefits:
DRIVERS - While in training, pay is always minimum wage, currently established at $8.00 per hour. Once training is complete and you have been certified to drive for The RIDE, the following wage scale becomes effective:
Sedan: $12.50 per hour Van: $14.50 per hour
RESERVATIONISTS - While training the pay is always $10.00 per hour. Once training is complete and you have been certified to take reservations for The RIDE the following wage scale becomes effective:
$12.36 per hour
DISPATCHERS - While training the pay is always $12.00 per hour. Once training is complete and you have been certified to dispatch for The RIDE the following wage scale becomes effective:
